Apple fanboyism, explained (EN only)
I fount this explanation (or point of view, if you want) on #whitenoise written by msafiri. I totally agree with him and I leave this here to shut some anti-Apple fanboyism mouths up.
Warning : Rant ! 'Apple fanboy' : oft repeated in conversations, comments and articles on the Internet.
People seem to think that being so is a bad thing, and Apple fanboys are dumb tomfools who lack a sense of judgement, style, usability and everything else ! Whenever an article regarding Apple Inc, Steve Jobs or any of the iProducts get posted, there seem to be atleast a few people who shall write "Yeah! You are an Apple Fanboy! You are blind!.. and dumb"...What I wish to say to the world in large is....
Nobody likes or roots for an inferior quality product, even if they come from a company which is/was at the summit. (I am not implying anything.)
Being an Apple fanboy (By general definition, a person who likes Apple products to an extreme degree) doesn't automatically translate into a blind aversion for non-Apple products.
If Apple comes out with a iPhone 4G with features like allowing only one email ID to sync with, or no camera (front or back), then I am 100% sure, the sales of that device shall not exceed that of the JooJoo ([gizmodo.com]) ! Or imagine the MacBook Pro continues to reach temperatures beyond the boiling point of water ([gizmodo.com]). I trust Apple to fix these issues soon and that the new MacBook Pro will prove to be a good product ! (I am not comparing it with any other product, nor saying that it is the best! Please spare me the venom !)The iPhone may not have the best hardware when you compare it with a HTC Incredible, or the multitasking on a Windows Mobile 6.5 might be much powerful. But then there are so many pros and cons about each system and device, that consumers choose their product based on their judgment of their likes and dislikes.Apple fanboys exist because the company continuously strives to better itself and come out with better devices than it had the last time around. It also forced other companies to rethink its strategies and product line-ups and eventually helped created a better competitive environment. Yes, Apple sometimes skips and falters on some steps, but it doesn't miss out on the big picture of coming out with usable products.Apple has created a niche universe of devices which amaze a small population who don't mind being called Apple fanboys !
But Yeah! Fanboys do have a taste for non-Apple products too ! If I were to ask how many non-Apple devices do these fanboys tout, I am sure the list will be a long and varied one. Its just a list of some of the better products there are...huff!
